Isn't it funny how the best tasting fruits seem to have the most names. And the more diverse the names and far and wide the fruit goes, generally the better the flavour of the fruit. Annona maricata is the generic species name, but also goes by soursop, gaviola, guyabano, guanabana, custard apple, sirsak, mang cau, sugar-apple, durian belanda, lampun, or durian salat, just to name a few. It's wild to think that this fruit transcends cultural and culinary boundaries as efficiently as it does. If all the cool kids are eating it, they figured they had better get around to joining the party. Wit its tropical character it slides alongside their Brettanomyces flavour profile seamlessly. Post attenuation perceived sweetness is abound, despite the dry nature of this blend. It's thirst quenching, while leaving you thirsty for more. In addition to all the beautiful flavours, the glorious outward appearance of the fruit can best be described as a pissed off avocado.
