While traditional Oktoberfest celebrations originally poured the darker, heavier Marzen, Festbier emerged in the 1970s as a lighter, more drinkable alternative. It was such a hit that by the early 1990s, it officially took over as the primary beer style poured at Oktoberfest in Munich.
It's an amber coloured, malt forward lager with just a hint of sweetness. At 5.9% it packs a little punch, perfect way to warm up on these chilly fall evenings.
